About This Project

Patterson Park Church had plans for the future, and needed to expand their current facilities. Church designer, HiFive Church Group worked with the church for more than a year to develop a solution — a multi-phase renovation and expansion project of their current facility.

Guests will now find a beautiful and inspiring new worship space, lobby, choir rehearsal area, meeting areas, a full basement, kitchen, and classrooms. The new space helps support Patterson Park Church’s ministry and mission work around the world.

When Patterson Park Church approached HiFive, they were holding most of the church events, including Sunday worship services, in a multipurpose room. Holding worship and other events, such as mission conferences, bible studies and choir rehearsal, in the same multipurpose room prevents the church from holding more than one event at a time.

Following several meeting with the leadership of the church, HiFive developed plans for a new worship area adding 200 seats for 600 total seats at its Sunday services with additional storage and classroom space and an unfinished basement available for future expansion when the budget provides the resources.

Patterson Park Church is a nondenominational church with about a 600-person congregation. The church was formed in the 1950s and is known for its missions work. Twenty percent of its general budget plus additional designated dollars raised throughout the year are committed to supporting local and global mission work.

It outgrew its first facility and moved to its current spot in 1992. At that time, the plan was to have a formal worship center. But instead of building a room solely for worship services, a multipurpose room was built first to save costs.
