Through Innovative Design, HiFive Church Group Is Helping Mason United Methodist Church Better Meet the Needs of Their Congregation
To help meet the needs of a growing congregation, Mason United Methodist Church (MUMC) is working with HiFive Church Group, a branch of HiFive Development Services serving the church market, on the latest phase of their master plan, 15,250sf of renovations and additions to the existing church.
Under HiFive’s guidance, the design will architecturally enhance the diverse culture served by the church. MUMC needed a larger sanctuary space that could accommodate both traditional and contemporary services without feeling like a compromise. HiFive developed an innovative solution.
The sanctuary uses a creative lighting scheme to accentuate the style of worship. The space, designed for a traditional service, is transformed through light for a contemporary service. The acoustics enhance the experience of both styles of service. “He (Blake Helms, HiFive Senior Designer) helped us take one worship space and make it traditional for one hour and contemporary for another,” explains Dr. George Phillips, Senior Pastor at MUMC.
“We’re proud of the work we’re doing for Mason United Methodist Church,” says John Moses, Chief Operating Officer with HiFive Church Group. “Our goal with church projects is to understand the culture of the congregation before we begin work. To us, that is good stewardship.”
